COVID- 19 UPDATE
Firstly, I would just like to emphasize that in dentistry it is normal practice to treat all patients on the assumption that they are infectious. We still have the normal supplies and resources to maintain our high infection control standards and we are constantly reviewing these to keep in line with the latest guidelines. The reason for the new restrictions on dental practice is to minimise close contact between people, particularly when dealing with oral fluids.
We are a small, single-operator practice and usually have only one patient at a time either in the surgery or in the waiting room. We ask that you do not bring your family or friends with you to sit in the waiting room while you have your appointment. Also, please arrive just before your appointment time, to minimise the number of people in the waiting room at any one time.
If you come in for an appointment, we ask you to please tell us
-If you have a fever, or shortness of breath or a cough with or without a fever.
-If you have travelled overseas recently.
-If you have had close or casual contact with a confirmed or suspected case of COVID-19.
We will have to limit dental treatment to emergencies and that which is considered urgent. In other words, this would apply to relief of pain and discomfort, and treatment of any conditions which are likely to quickly develop into something more serious if left untreated.
Routine periodic examinations and cleans will have to be deferred. If you have any concerns about anything or if there was something I was going to reassess at your next check-up, don’t hesitate to phone to ask about it.
We will probably be faced with having to close the surgery for some mornings and afternoons until at least the end of April, as business has dried up. If this is the case, I will divert phone calls to my mobile phone so I can give advice and arrange to book in people with urgent problems, if necessary. We may even be forced to close completely.
I want to thank my regular clients for their support and we will do our best to make sure you have your needs attended to in these difficult times.
Dr. Greg Hilton
Dr. Greg Hilton graduated from the University of Western Australia in 1980. He spent three years in London in the 1980’s and has practiced in Perth since then.
Greg and his team at Dentalcare of Forrestfield aims help you achieve a healthy, maintainable dentition that YOU are aesthetically comfortable with.
We will guide you rather than try to persuade you, through the often many treatment options. After a complete examination, we will discuss your concerns and goals with you, then recommend the minimum and least expensive treatment we consider necessary to achieve these goals. If we consider that a more expensive form of treatment may be better and in fact cheaper for you in the long run, then we will discuss this with you.
An estimate will be given for any planned treatment. If we don’t think we can ourselves achieve what you need, we will offer you a referral to someone who can. Our equipment is modern and up to date and well maintained.
